Abe Light, lives in Argyle NY with his family where they have a small operation raising show heifers.
Although he didn’t grow up on a farm, he was fortunate to be introduced to the world of registered Holsteins in high school and has been involved with them since. In College, he met people who connected him with opportunities to work shows and sales, eventually leading to years spent fitting dairy cattle across the USA and Canada
In 2005, Abe transitioned into commercial dairy farming, and worked as a herdsman and herd manager at two different herds in the North East. He later joined ABS Global as an AI technician, relocated to Idaho, and spent several years in management before returning to NY in 2013 to reconnect with the registered cattle industry.
Since then, Abe mostly worked full or part time as a promoter and a Sale Contact, marketing cattle and assisting buyers in purchasing cattle and genetics that suit their needs and their budgets. He is a dealer for the ProElement product line, and also works full time as a Farm Performance Consultant at Valley Ag Software.
Over the last 25 years, he’s had the good fortune to work with 3 Supreme Champions at Madison, multiple Madison Champions, and many All-Americans across several breeds. He has owned or sold a handful of All American nominations, and co-bred the Unanimous All American R&W Spring calf in 2022.
He has had the opportunity to judge many shows at the local and state level, and has judged National shows in several breeds. This is his second time officiating at the AADS, and he appreciates the opportunity to be of service once again.
